Our Philosophy

At Shoreline we value the diversity of each person accessing services and therefore tailor our counselling approaches to meet your unique needs.

We draw from a variety of different therapeutic orientations including short-term brief solution focused therapy, collaborative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, experiential therapies, and psycho-education. Regardless of the approach, our primary goal is to provide a positive therapeutic alliance that will foster long lasting change and growth. It is important to us to always be collaborative in our work with you, therefore, we place partnership at the foreground of your care.

At Shoreline we value the expertise of each person accessing services. We do not believe that we as counsellors have the ‘answer’ to your concerns or ‘solutions’  to apply to your unique situation. We do feel that as a partner in your journey we can offer guidance, provoke thought, and contribute skills and tools to explore and increase ability and readiness for change. We are genuine and transparent in the work we do and will ensure that you are the driving force of what efforts we create.

Client Care Policy

We encourage our clients to give us feedback so that we may provide the most useful, respectful, and relevant experience possible. 

We understand that creating a strong therapeutic alliance is essential for successful therapy. With this in mind, if you do not feel connected to your counsellor or you are not satisfied with the services provided, please let us know. We will gladly listen to your feedback and address your concerns immediately. If needed, we will connect you with another counsellor to better meet your needs. It is our sole intention to make sure you are happy and feel that you are getting the best support possible.
