At Shoreline Therapy Group we specialize in offering substance use counseling for individuals, families, caregivers, and groups.
Shoreline counselors specialize in providing services for people interested in exploring a change in their relationship to alcohol and/or other drugs. We recognize change is a process that can be both challenging and rewarding. With non-judgmental support, flexibility, and creativity, we can assist in setting and achieving goals. Most importantly, we strive to tailor our services to fit the unique beliefs and knowledge that our clients hold about addiction, substances, and change. Shoreline substance use services are customized for youth, adults, and older adults and include:
- Out-patient therapy
- Referral to withdrawal management (detox) programming
- Referral to in-patient residential and/or supportive recovery programming
- Relapse prevention planning and ongoing therapy
Parents and Caregivers
Parents and caregivers often encounter grief, anger, shame, and confusion when caring for a son or daughter using alcohol and/or other drugs. Parents can experience emotional and even physical distress. Despite such impacts, few resources are available to specifically support parents and caregivers. At Shoreline we believe that parents and caregivers are important resources for their loved ones and therefore should have readily accessible, respectful and collaborative support. We are here to help navigate, what many parents call, the roller coaster ride of addiction. We value the wisdom and expert knowledge that parents hold and work to assist caregivers to feel valued, heard, and confident in their parenting efforts. Shoreline substance use services for parents and other family members include:
- Parent/caregiver counseling
- Family therapy
- Parent groups: Recognizing Resilience
As Shoreline therapists specialize in substance use services, we use e-counselling technology to appeal to an international clientele. Contact us to set up an e-counselling appointment or telephone session.
