At Shoreline Therapy Group we offer individual, family, and group counselling options.
Family therapy is a type of counselling that helps family members, couples and others who care about each other to explore thoughts and emotions safely. Family therapy can support family members to improve communication and resolve conflicts by aiding family members to understand each other’s experiences and views, identify and appreciate each other’s needs, and build on strengths. Family therapy can be useful in any family situation that causes stress, grief, anger or conflict. You may address specific challenges such as conflict between parents and children, the impact of substance use, separation and/or divorce, or other life changes.
Family therapy may include all family members or just those able or willing to participate. Your specific counselling plan will depend on your family's situation. Family therapy sessions can deepen family connections and allow you and your loved ones to enhance relationships while increasing ability to get through difficult times
At Shoreline, Family Therapy aims to be:
- Inclusive and respectful of the needs of each member of the family
- In partnership ‘with’ families
- Sensitive to diverse family structures and relationships, beliefs and cultures
